Aquilegia Alpina

A pretty species Columbine from high in the Swiss Alps! Aquilegia alpina has a charming simplicity that makes it a delight to grow in rockeries, alpine gardens and borders. Nodding blue bonnets perch upon slender stems from late spring into early summer. This is a variable species, sometimes producing blue and white bicolour blooms. With a carefree habit, this dainty hardy perennial is best grown in groups and left to seed about to create trouble-free colonies, popping up among grasses and other perennials. Height: 80cm (31″). Spread: 45cm (18″).
