Podocarpus Alpinus ‘Jalako Red’

Podocarpus alpinus ‘Jalako Red’ could be mistaken for Yew with its dark, evergreen foliage, but this compact, mound forming shrub is distinctly different. The new foliage is red in spring giving some lovely contrast. Spring flowers are followed by small red fruits where male and female plants are grown together. This speedy conifer is ideal for creating ground cover in borders where it will deliver texture and colour to your planting scheme. Height: 50cm (20”). Spread: 100cm (39”).
